Design for Constructability

Prior to starting MESA, Dan managed high-end and custom residential construction projects while working for general contractors. His unique experience informs our designs by placing constructability, budget, and the project timeline at the center of every design solution we offer.

Team Approach

We are advocates for assembling our team, including the contractor and client, early in the design phase. This process is called Integrated Project Delivery (IPD) and it results in a streamlined process that starts in the design phase and continues through construction. It encourages communication, collective problem solving, and saves time (and money) along the way.

Example Details

I am a proponent of Integrated Project Delivery (IPD) and I advocate assembling our team early in the design process. IPD streamlines design and construction, facilitates communication, reduces costs, and ultimately results in the best projects possible. I’ve seen the benefits of IPD as both the architect and general contractor, and I especially enjoy the enduring relationships that are typical in this process.
