Architects are known for sketching on napkins. This is because sketching is an explorative process that allows us to quickly test ideas. It is a communication tool that facilitates dialog and articulates ideas, especially when collaborating. Although it is an informal and loose process, it still provides useful information. And sometimes this process occurs on a napkin…
NAPKIN SESSIONS
It’s our answer to serving clients whose small project or design problem does not require the full suite of architectural services. Napkin Sessions are an opportunity to work closely with an architect through a streamlined process with the aim of reducing time spent on a project, which results in cost savings to our clients.
You can expect to receive the same professional care we provide on all our projects, but cost savings are realized through a reduced hourly rate or pre-determined sum that is inline with the scale of the project.
Project Examples
Small design projects - Renovation and remodel consultations, exterior improvements, finish selections (tile, paint color, plumbing and electrical fixtures), fabrication drawings
Building code and zoning research - Accessory Dwelling Unit (ADU) feasibility, building set-backs and allowable site uses
Construction consultation - Job-site observation, building permitting assistance, owner’s representative services
“As-built” drawings - Measured drawings of an existing structure
Visualization - Photoshop, rendering, photography, drone photo/video, and graphics services
